NuVision Solar Announces 2.5GW HJT Solar Cell and Module Plant in the US

New Manufacturing Facility to Boost Domestic Solar Production

NuVision Solar, a recently established US-based solar manufacturer, plans to build a state-of-the-art heterojunction (HJT) solar cell and module assembly plant in the United States. With an annual production capacity of 2.5GW, the facility is expected to begin module production in Q4 2025. The company’s modules will cater to the utility-scale, large-scale commercial, and residential markets while meeting domestic content requirements under the Inflation Reduction Act, qualifying for the 10% bonus incentive.

While the exact location of the plant remains undisclosed, NuVision Solar emphasized its commitment to producing bifacial modules with power outputs of up to 800W. These modules will offer a 35-year performance warranty and a 20-year product warranty, reflecting the company’s confidence in its product durability and efficiency.

Advanced HJT Technology to Enhance Energy Performance

NuVision Solar aims to differentiate itself by adopting heterojunction technology, a move led by its experienced executive team with over two decades in solar cell and module manufacturing. “Heterojunction technology enables us to achieve exceptional cell efficiencies and consistently high performance across various conditions,” said Dr. Tom Mueller, CTO of NuVision Solar.

With much of the current US solar manufacturing focused on TOPCon technology, NuVision Solar joins a smaller group of companies, including Solarix and Meyer Burger, that are investing in HJT capacity. The company’s advanced cells aim to improve system performance, maximize energy generation, and deliver greater lifetime value for customers.

A Strategic Move to Strengthen US Solar Capabilities

NuVision Solar’s entry into the market marks a significant step in bolstering domestic solar manufacturing. By focusing on next-generation technologies, the company seeks to drive innovation and strengthen the supply chain for high-performance solar modules in the United States.
