New Manufacturing Milestone
Siemens Mobility has committed $60 million towards constructing a pioneering high-speed train manufacturing facility in Horseheads, New York. This initiative marks the first of its kind in the U.S., focusing on enhancing the national high-speed railway infrastructure. Spanning 300,000 square feet, the plant is strategically positioned to spearhead the development of faster rail connections across the country.
Job Creation and Economic Impact
Projected to generate approximately 300 jobs, the facility underscores Siemens’ role in bolstering local economies and technological advancements in transportation. The plant will primarily produce the American Pioneer 220 trains, designated for the Las Vegas–Southern California route operated by Brightline West, which is at the forefront of regional high-speed transport development.
Vision for Future Transportation
Slated for completion in 2026, the manufacturing site is set to be a cornerstone in the creation of a robust transportation network linking major West Coast cities.
